Barefoot Bowls

A Barefoot Bowls event is a great social activity for family and corporate groups, that can be relaxing and appealing to people of all ages. Bowls is a relatively low impact sport and this allows for people of all ages to be included. This great version of bowls has changed the face of lawn bowls as well as bowls clubs and New Farm Bowls Club is a leading venue for Barefoot Bowls.

Whether it’s a family gathering, birthday party, informal social occasion, work function or just a get together with friends, barefoot bowls is a great way to spend the day (or evening). The NFBC is fortunate enough to enjoy one of the largest inner-city bowling greens in Brisbane and can cater for groups of up to 100 bowling at one time.

We offer:

  • A fantastic centrally located venue with easy access and parking. Bus and City Cat on our doorstep.

  • A newly renovated Clubhouse with excellent bar and kitchen facilities.

  • Outdoor alfresco shaded seating and a great casual and relaxed atmosphere and 12 bowling rinks.  We have two hour booking availability but can customise the booking to suit individual requests.

  • Indoor seating and dining facilities that can accommodate over 100 people. Enjoy a meal & bowling or come in just for a meal – lunch and dinner (Thursday – Sunday)

We can accommodate large groups and can allocate adjacent rinks for even extra-large groups.

We cater to all groups including families, corporate and community organisations.  NFBC is the ideal venue for family get togethers such as birthdays or reunions. We have a range of bowls for all ages with smaller sizes suitable for children. The whole family can participate. Saturdays and Sundays are our most popular family days.

We'll show you what to do will give you the run down on the game of bowls beforehand and be available during your play.

Corporate groups can take advantage of the easy access from the City – we're only a stones throw from the CBD and Fortitude Valley.  Come by bus, ferry, car or scooter – absolutely no parking hassles. Corporate barefoot bowls is a very popular way for companies to encourage good working relationships and team building.

FAQ

You Asked, We Answered

How many people to a rink (lane)?

Anywhere from 1 person to 8 people can bowl on each lane. However if there is a group of 10 and they all wish to play together, we can squeeze 10 to a lane without much difficulty.

We aren’t sure how many people are coming for bowls?

This is a common scenario. Simply book for how many people you know are definately turning up, and if more people turn up on the day, and room permits, you just pay for the extras at the bar.

Can children bowl?

Yes. The NFBC is very family friendly and has smaller bowls for the young bowler.

What happens if it rains?

On the rare occasion where rain does impact the greens and no play is possible NFBC has a policy of offering a full refund for the green fees. See our full Terms and Conditions here
